Consumer Cellular's Connect plan is an excellent no-contract plan and one of our top choices for senior citizens. AARP members can receive a discount of up to 5% on their Connect plan! You can save even more when you add multiple lines to your plan.
The Connect plan isn't all about the discounts. This plan includes many great calling features including conference calling, call forwarding, call waiting, caller ID, voicemail, and international direct dial.
If you find that you need more data or minutes per month, you can upgrade or downgrade your Connect at the end of any billing cycle. Consumer Cellular won't bill you if you adjust your plan!
Consumer Cellular's Connect plan includes unlimited messages, 250 or unlimited minutes, and a little bit of cellular data. There are five data options, ranging from 250 MB – 10 GB.
Regardless of how much data you have on your Connect plan, its speeds will be 4G LTE. Your data speeds will be throttled once you've used up all your data for the month.
Consumer Cellular Connect plans are prepaid, no-contract plans. You can upgrade or downgrade your plan at any time, free of charge.
If you go over your monthly minutes or cellular data allotment, your Connect plan will be upgraded to the next level. If you exceed 10 GB in a month, you'll be charged a small fee for every extra gigabyte you use.
You can use your minutes and messages to make calls and texts to other countries, but you'll be charged a very small fee when you do so. You can also roam internationally on your Connect plan, but you'll be charged small fees when you use your minutes, messages, or data.
Consumer Cellular was founded in 1995, and since then it has revolutionized the cellular service industry. This carrier was one of the first to offer no contract cell phone plans, which means customers didn’t have to make a long-term agreement to get cell service.
The founders of Consumer Cellular focused on providing affordable plans to seniors and retired persons. In accordance with this mission, Consumer Cellular formed a partnership with the American Association of Retired Persons (AARP) in 2006. This helped them grow their customer base to more than two million subscribers.
It’s very easy to build your own plan with Consumer Cellular. You can choose exactly how many minutes and how much data you’ll need. Plus, all their plans come with unlimited texting.
Consumer Cellular also makes it fairly easy to bring your phone to their network. If you have an AT&T or T-Mobile phone, or if your current phone is GSM-unlocked, you can keep it when you sign up for a Consumer Cellular plan. They’ll send you a new, free SIM card that you can put in the phone you already love. If you don’t have a phone yet, that’s okay too! Consumer Cellular has a wide selection of phones available, from basic flip phones to the latest smartphones, including the iPhone X.
Consumer Cellular has received national recognition for their excellent service. They’ve frequently won the award for #1 Overall Customer Satisfaction from Consumer Reports. In 2009, Inc. 5000 ranked Consumer Cellular as one of Oregon’s fastest growing companies.
We highly recommend Consumer Cellular for seniors and AARP members!
