So you're on the phone with a friend and the call ends abruptly. Your phone hasn't done this before, but recently your Google Pixel started dropping calls. In this article, I'll show you how to fix the problem when your Google Pixel is dropping calls!
Check Your Wireless Coverage
Wireless coverage can be a factor in your Google Pixel dropping calls depending on the service of your carrier. If you notice that your phone calls are dropping in the same area, this might be what's happening. We offer a coverage map for all the major carriers in the US. All you have to do is select your carrier, service, and address and your coverage will appear on the map.
Turn Cellular Off And Back On
Toggling the Cellular on your Pixel will give it the opportunity to reconnect to your carriers network. An easy way to do this is by turning on Airplane Mode and then turning it off. This will reset the connection and could stop your Google Pixel from dropping calls.
To do this, swipe up from the bottom of your screen and open Settings. From here, select Network & Internet. This will take you to a different page where the Airplane Mode switch will be located at the top of the screen. Turn it to the On position to enable Airplane Mode and wait fifteen seconds before turning it off.
Restart Your Google Pixel
If your Google Pixel drops calls after trying the steps above, our next recommendation is to restart your phone. Restarting your phone will assist in fixing minor software problems with your Pixel and reset the phone. Simply press and hold down the Power button and then select Power Off beside the icon on your screen. After fifteen seconds, press and hold the Power button once more to turn your Pixel back on.
Reset Network Settings
This step will reset your Cellular, Bluetooth and Wi-Fi settings on your Google Pixel. We recommend writing down any important information before you begin, like your Wi-Fi password.
To start, open Settings and select System, then Advanced. From here, tap Reset Options, then WiFi, Mobile & Bluetooth, then Reset Settings to confirm. You may be prompted to enter your PIN, pattern, or password, before the process will start.
Contact Your Wireless Carrier
There's one more software troubleshooting step you can take, but we recommend checking in with your wireless carrier first. The reason your Google Pixel drops calls might be coming from the carrier themselves, so it's a good idea to contact them to ask. Here's a list of the support numbers for the four major carriers,

Factory Reset Your Pixel
A factory reset will completely reset your phone's software, potentially fixing the reason your Google Pixel drops calls. This is the final troubleshooting step, and it'll return your Google Pixel to the original state it was in when purchased. Before starting the Factory Reset, we recommend backing up your data to keep your information safe.
With your Google Pixel, you're able to backup photos and files to Google Drive. If it's helpful, you can also turn on Automatic Backups in your Settings app. From there, select System, then Backup, and turn on your backup service.
Now that your information is safe, we can start the Factory Reset. To start, make sure you know your Google username and password so the process goes smoothly. Next, open Settings, and select System, then Advanced, before taping Reset Options. From here, click Erase All Data (Factory Reset) then Reset Phone. You may be prompted to enter your PIN, pattern, or password to begin.
Next, select Erase All to erase the internal storage from your phone. When your phone is finished erasing, choose the Restart option when prompted. After your phone restarts, you'll need to complete the set up process followed by restoring your backed-up data.
Repair
If you're still experiencing your Google Pixel dropping calls, then it's likely there's an issue with your phone's antenna. We don't recommend attempting to fix this at home, and instead suggest taking it in for repair. The Google Repair Center has a chat function and you can easily set up an appointment for repair.
