You were in the middle of a phone call when all of the sudden it ended without either party hanging up. Depending on who you're talking to, this problem can add anything between a minor inconvenience and a serious conflict into your life. Regardless of the consequences, here's every fix you can try if your Google Pixel 5 is dropping calls!
Check Your Cellular Coverage
Before going too deep into the repair process, it will help to make sure that your phone's not the problem at all. Cellular carriers have varying service quality depending on where you are, so your call may have dropped just because you were out of your coverage's range.

Turn Your Pixel 5's Cellular Data Off and Back On
Sometimes, quickly resetting your data connection by turning cellular off and on can resolve your cellular issues. The quickest way to complete this step on a Google Pixel 5 is to activate and then disable Airplane Mode.
Swipe up from the bottom of your Pixel 5's display, then open Settings. Next, tap Network & Internet. The Airplane Mode switch should be available to you in the Network & Internet page. Tap the switch to turn Airplane Mode on, then leave it for about 15 seconds. Finally, tap the switch again to turn it back off.

Restart Your Google Pixel 5
Restarting your Pixel 5 can help resolve a lot of minor software glitches interfering with your cell phone's functionality. It's possible that, after restarting, your Pixel 5 may be able to maintain a stronger connection during calls.
To begin, press and hold your power button. When the power icon appears on your Pixel 5's screen, select Power Off. Once your phone shuts down, wait 15 seconds. Then, press and hold the power button until your Pixel 5 turns back on.
Reset Network Settings
The Network Settings on a Google Pixel 5 keep track of your wireless connections via Bluetooth, Cellular and WiFi. Resetting Network Settings can give your phone a chance to build a fresh cellular connection, and might solve the problem you're experiencing in the process. These settings also store information like WiFi passwords, so you'll want to take down any important wireless information externally before moving forward.
To begin, open Settings and tap System, followed by Advanced. Next, tap Reset Options, followed by WiFi, Mobile & Bluetooth. Finally, tap Reset Settings to confirm this action. If you use a PIN or security code, your Pixel 5 may ask you to enter it now as well.

On Google Pixels especially, it's very easy to upload pictures, videos and documents directly to Google Drive.
If you'd rather not need to manually backup your data, you can also activate Automatic Backups on your phone. Open Settings, tap System, followed by Backup. You should be able to turn Automatic Backups on from there.
Once you have all of your information stored externally, it's time to begin the reset process. First, plug your Pixel 5 into a power source, for this process can take a while and you don't want to run out of battery in the middle of it. It would also be helpful to make a note of your Google account and password, having that information ready will simplify the process of logging back into your phone.
When you're ready, open Settings, tap System, then Advanced. Next, select Reset Options, then Erase All Data (Factory Reset). Finally, press Reset Phone. Similarly to the Network Settings reset, you may need to enter your security information at this point to confirm that you want to perform this reset.
Next, tap Erase All. Once all of your data's erased, tap Restart. Once your Pixel 5 powers back on, restore your data and everything should be back to normal!
