According to Statista, Netflix is one of the most popular streaming services with 192.95 million users worldwide as of the second quarter of 2020. However, it's also one of the most expensive streaming services on the market. Did you know that you can get a Netflix subscription bundled with your cell phone plan to save money? In this article, we'll show you all the best Netflix cell phone plans of 2024!
Bundled Services
I love movies, and I love Netflix. Catching up on my favorite shows at the end of the day is a great way to wind down after work. My friends really enjoy TV shows like Breaking Bad, but to be entirely honest, my Star Trek obsession more than justifies the monthly fee.
Many top-tier unlimited cell phone plans include subscriptions to streaming services like Netflix. The plans themselves are relatively expensive, but you could actually save money since Netflix is included.
Before you make the jump, make sure to see if an unlimited plan is really right for you. Check out our article about whether or not you need an unlimited plan to learn more. It might be cheaper for you to buy Netflix separately if you don't plan on using a lot of cellular data. If you'd rather watch than read, watch our video about how to decide:
T-Mobile's Magenta Cell Phone Plan
Although other carriers offer similar streaming service bundles, T-Mobile is the only wireless network carrier that offers Netflix.
T-Mobile Magenta comes bundled with a free year of Netflix and Quibi. After the first year, you'll have the option to choose one or the other. If you opt for Netflix, which most people would, not only will you get unlimited data on one of the nation's most reliable networks, you'll also get access to one of the best Netflix cell phone plans in 2020.
Netflix uses a lot of data. If you're streaming while on the go, you'll be satisfied with T-Mobile's Magenta plan. T-Mobile doesn't start throttling your data speed until you hit 50 GB in one month.
T-Mobile Magenta also includes T-Mobile Tuesdays. It's a great rewards program that keeps you in the loop with discounts and savings from many popular brands.
U.S. Mobile
If you're registering several lines with your plan, US Mobile might be the way to go. By signing up for a US Mobile unlimited plan with three lines, you can choose from a number of different perks, including a standard Netflix subscription!
If you upgrade to four lines, you can add an additional perk like PlayStation Plus or Xbox Live Gold.
What About Other Carriers?
If you're looking for Netflix on another carrier, you're out of luck. T-Mobile is the only wireless carrier that offers Netflix. Other carriers do offer some great streaming services, though. Here are some “honorable mentions” to compare with our best Netflix cell phone plans!
Verizon Get More Unlimited
Verizon's Get More Unlimited Plan doesn't offer Netflix, but it does come with Disney+, ESPN+, and Hulu. Since it includes three great streaming services, this plan is a definite contender for one of 2024‘s best bundles.
With Disney+, you can enjoy all your favorite Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney animated films on demand. Hulu and ESPN+ are great options for watching your favorite movies and sports on the go.
AT&T Unlimited Elite
AT&T doesn't have Netflix either, but their Unlimited Elite plan includes HBO Max. AT&T's Unlimited Elite plan includes lightning-fast 5G access, advanced mobile security, and a great selection of movies and TV shows on HBO Max.
Cricket Wireless
Cricket Wireless's More unlimited plans offer unlimited data at an affordable price. They don't offer a video streaming service as part of their bundle, but they do include a free trial to Deezer, the company's own music streaming service.
One of the best parts about Deezer is that it's ad-free. It also includes access to millions of songs. Unfortunately, you have to pay after the trial expires. If you have an iPhone, you're better off paying $5 / month for Apple Music. But if you like saving on unlimited data and love music, this is a decent option to consider.
Google Fi Unlimited
Google Fi's Unlimited plan doesn't include a video streaming service. It does, however, include 100 GB of cloud storage. So why is that comparable to a streaming service?
Let's say you have a lot of old movies saved on your devices. You converted them from DVDs, video tapes, or other sources. With Google Fi's 100 GB of cloud storage, you could store these videos and movies in the cloud and access them from anywhere, on-demand.
Of course, this method is limited to whatever movies you already have. It might be a more affordable alternative to paying for a streaming service bundle that includes Netflix, though.
Compare Cell Phone Plans
If you want to compare the details of some of these cell phone plans, try out UpPhone's plan comparison tool. It's a great way to compare aspects like price, data, and included services. Just use the filters at the top of the tool page to narrow down your search.
