Apple announced many exciting new products and features at their October Event. Among these features is MagSafe, a magnet apparatus built into each of the four new iPhone 12 models. In this article, I'll tell you everything you need to know about MagSafe on iPhone and what it means for the iPhone user experience!
What Is MagSafe?
MagSafe is an internal magnet built into the back of each iPhone 12 model's structure. There are several potential benefits that come with the inclusion of MagSafe in the functionality of a cell phone.
One of the major benefits intended by MagSafe is to improve wireless charging. It's easy to put your iPhone in the wrong spot on a wireless charger. If it's not on the center of the wireless charger, your iPhone can charge more slowly or not charge at all. MagSafe will help make sure your iPhone 12 stays on the center of your Qi wireless charger!
What Other Products Can We Expect?
Apple mentioned that there are already many new products specifically designed for MagSafe compatibility in the works, both within their company and by third parties like Belkin. For example, Apple announced a foldable magnetic charger that will allow users to charge their iPhone 12 and Apple Watch simultaneously.
We recommend keeping an eye out for any incoming Magnetic Qi chargers, as MagSafe will likely revolutionize the effectiveness and efficiency of the wireless charging industry.
Wallet attachments will also be supported by MagSafe. These attachments will make it easier to carry important personal items like IDs, cash, and credit cards with your iPhone at all times.
You can expect car accessories too. Rather than having to use a clamp to keep your iPhone secure while driving, you'll be able to use a MagSafe stand!
MagSafe: Coming Soon!
MagSafe is just one of the exciting new technologies coming from Apple with the release of the iPhone 12 and 12 Pro lines. What else caught your eye at the latest Apple event? Let us know in the comments!
