You’ve decided to switch cellular carriers. While it can seem like a daunting task, switching carriers online has never been easier, and you may even save money when you do. In this article, I'll explain how to switch from Tello Mobile to T-Mobile.
Why Switch To T-Mobile?
There are so many different carriers to choose from today, how can you know which is best for you? While the answer to that question will be different for everyone, there are many benefits to switching to T-Mobile.
Tello Mobile is a T-Mobile mobile virtual network operator (MVNO), meaning they lease coverage from T-Mobile. While it's possible, it's unlikely your coverage will improve much when you switch from Tello Mobile to T-Mobile.
However, there are a couple good reasons to switch to T-Mobile. The first is retail stores. T-Mobile has nearly 8,000 retail locations where you can get help with your cell phone plan or cell phone. They also have one of the best customer rewards programs: T-Mobile Tuesdays. Log into the T-Mobile Tuesdays app every week for free stuff and special discounts!
Picking Your Plan
T-Mobile has a variety of plans for you to choose from. This variety is a major benefit to coverage from a major carrier, because it increases the likelihood that you'll find a plan with only the service you need. Can I Keep My Phone?
Since Tello Mobile is a T-Mobile MVNO, there's a good chance you'll be able to keep your phone when you switch. GSM phones purchased directly from Tello Mobile are also unlocked. However, if you brought a locked phone to Tello Mobile, it's possible that the phone is still locked. Unfortunately, Tello Mobile does not unlock phones.

Pick The Right Time To Switch
This step is important in reducing the potential stress and hassle associated with switching cellular providers. To save the most money possible, cancel your plan with Tello near the end of your monthly billing cycle.
By waiting until the last few days of your billing cycle to switch, you won't get charged for another month or waste any data from your Tello plan. Once your billing cycle is almost up, make the switch to your new T-Mobile plan.
Can I Keep My Phone Number?
Yes, you can keep your phone number when switching to T-Mobile. Visit T-Mobile's website to see if your number is eligible to be transferred. We also recommend keeping your Tello Mobile plan until your number has been transferred over, just to make sure there isn't an issue porting it to T-Mobile.
