How To Switch To Spectrum Mobile

How To Switch To Spectrum Mobile

You're thinking about switching cell phone plans, but aren't sure what that entails. You're considering Spectrum Mobile as a potential option, but want to know more details. Here's everything you need to know before you switch to Spectrum Mobile!

Why Switch To Spectrum Mobile?

When it comes to switching cellular providers, there's any number of reasons to consider making the move. One thing that might cause you to switch plans is if your current provider doesn't provide the best service in your area. There's certainly no benefit to paying full price for unsatisfactory cellular service.

Spectrum Mobile coverage provides customers with access to Verizon's nationwide network, which has the widest reach of any domestic cellular network. If you want to see how your current provider compares, check out our coverage map!

Another reason to switch carriers is if you think you're overpaying for your current plan. With so many different options across different carriers, it can be hard to tell if you're paying for a fair deal.

An added benefit of switching to Spectrum is that you can easily bundle your cellular plan with other Spectrum services already you have. Even if you aren't a Spectrum customer, their cellular coverage comes with free access to their numerous Wi-Fi hotspots across the US.

Want to keep your old phone? Spectrum will let you bring it, as long as it's unlocked. If your current cell phone is locked to your old provider, you'll need to contact them and access an unlock code, so you can take it with you when you switch.

How To Check Your Phone's Compatibility

Even if your phone's unlocked, there are a few more details you need to make sure it's compatible with Spectrum. Most cellular carriers have a page on their website, which is dedicated to checking your phone's compatibility with their network. For more details about your phone's eligibility, check out Spectrum's Bring Your Own Phone page.

One item you'll need to check your current phone's eligibility is the IMEI number, or the international mobile equipment identity number. To find this, you can either check the Settings section of your device or dial #06#.

Android IMEI

To find out the IMEI number on an Android phone, you'll first need to go to your phone's Settings and then tap About Phone. Scroll down until you find the IMEI label and you should be able to access your phone's code.

iPhone IMEI

If you're looking for your iPhone's IMEI, go to the Settings app. Tap General, and then About. Your IMEI should be listed under the section labeled Primary.

Spectrum Mobile currently offers several options for cellular coverage. For details about all of your choices, check out our plan comparison tool!

By The Gig

If the amount of data you use regularly varies, you might want to consider Spectrum's Pay By The Gig option. For $14 per month per GB, you'll have access to unlimited calling and texting, without having to pay extra for data you won't use.

Spectrum Mobile Unlimited

If you plan on using more than 3 GB of data per month, we recommend Spectrum's Unlimited data option. At $45 per month, you'll still have unlimited calling and texting, but much more data proportional to what you'd be paying with the By The Gig option.

Crossing The Spectrum

Here's all the information you need to take control of your cellular coverage. If you want access to a strong and reliable network at a manageable price, switch to Spectrum Mobile today! What features do you lose when switching to Spectrum? Canada & Mexico calling still included? What about Spectrum customer Service? Verizon’s is stellar & easy to get in touch with someone that actually knows something. Not sure about Spectrum, I have Spectrum’s other services & customer service is mediocre at best.

I recently cut the cord with Spectrum & switched from home phone to mobile. It took almost 3 weeks for them to port my phone on their own network. Customer service people were very friendly but had no idea what they where doing.

Stay up to date on the latest phones, plans, and deals with our once-a-week digest.
